Eintracht’s visit of the Bielefeld ended in a goal-free draw with the result causing both teams too close for comfort with respect to relegation. Due to injuries and suspensions Friedhelm Funkel had to shift his starting eleven around and brought in Markus Steinhöfer and Junichi Inamoto as well as replacing Markus Pröll in goal with Oka Nikolov.

German U21 Daniel Halfar posed the best early attempt by the Bielefelder sixteen minutes in but his drive from eighteen metres was denied by Nikolov. Eintracht nearly took the lead midway of the half as Michael Fink’s cross into the box was missed by Léonard Kweuke. Following the miss both sides played error free and did not allow another scoring chance.

Austrian Ümit Korkmaz came in for Junichi Inamoto to add great attacking intensity
but it wasn’t to the hour mark that die Adler showed some creative instinct, however Nikola Petković probing cross didn’t provide the deadly intent needed. On the other end of the pitch, the twenty-two year old Serbian saved a clear goal scoring chance nearing Markus Bollmann. In the final fifteen minutes, traveling Eintracht fans rose in support as Herr Funkel support as eighteen year-old Sebastian Jung entered for fellow club product Patrick Ochs and was error free as the match ended in a goal-less draw. No longer an apprentice, Sebastian has arrived!
